Case Study
A Nonsense Christmas | Netflix
Key Art
For A Nonsense Christmas Key Art, we needed to find the sweet spot between the nostalgia of Christmas specials and Sabrina’s established brand. The team wanted to emulate the essence of vintage Christmas while tying it into Sabrina’s pin-up, sultry, and classic vibe. The poster’s dominant feature became the not-quite-black title treatment with a textured softness to mirror the intros of specials from yesteryear. A stylized image of Sabrina in an almost-painted, Coca Cola girl fashion solidified the classic and timeless look and feel for Sabrina’s special and gave Netflix a whole new look for their holidays.
On Product
This on-product tease set the tone for the special, giving fans a taste of what was coming… to Netflix. We introduced the audience to the special through Sabrina’s infamous twisted humor and spicy innuendos with a custom-capture piece, giving a little sneak peak into what the special would be – just enough to keep fans needing more.
Social
Organic and paid social assets swept platforms globally to tease and announce the special, give glimpses into surprise guests, and remind viewers to mark it in their calendars. For the announcement, we set the tone with a slow-burn tease, asking viewers to guess who would host the holiday special. The social assets went viral, starting with the announcement and ramping up when viewers got a sneak peek of the musical and comedic guests, like Chappell Roan, Quinta Brunson, Shania Twain and more!
AV
Finally giving the fans what they were begging for, we released a jam-packed trailer, shining the spotlight on all aspects of the special – holiday performances, surprise duets, hilarious skits, and lots and lots of behind-the-scenes tea! The main trailer shared snippets of the storyline that got the fans fired up to watch the special on December 6th.
